Good Afternoon!

Couple of quick hits today:

  • Timberwolves get killed at home, again. Ho-hum. They need to keep losing in order to get who they really need, Ricky Rubio.

  • Kevin McHale to return as coach, but not in the front office. I'm fine with this. The team certainly seems to have responded better to McHale than to Wittman. The problem is that installing Fred Hoiberg in the role previously occupied by McHale doesn't accomplish much at this point, given that he is touted as the individual Glen Taylor and McHale groomed for the job. Perhaps he'll be fine when given the chance, but I'll remain somewhat skeptical.

  • The NHL trade deadline hits at 2pm Central time, and my all-time favorite Gopher, Jordan Leopold, is on the move again.

  • More on the NHL deadline later. My Islanders have apparently traded their captain, Bill Guerin, to Pittsburgh, but more deals are expected. It'll be interesting to see what, if anything, happens with pending free agents like Jay Bouwmeester (FLA), Marian Gaborik (MIN), Marian Hossa (DET), etc.

  • Check out the Gophers and Wisconsin in hoops tonight at 7:30 and we'll have a recap tomorrow.
